Recent Projects

High-Quality, Sustainable Homes

Each home showcases our commitment to sustainability and high performance, featuring advanced energy systems and eco-friendly materials.

Our portfolio demonstrates that you don’t have to compromise on style or comfort to live in a sustainable home.

Doone Brae, Pepperstock.

This time we’ve moved away from our usual architect to try a different building system.

The Larsen Frames used here go up more quickly and will ultimately give us even better insulation and air tightness scores than our previous projects.
This house is a bit higher spec. It will have a ground source heat pump, its own water supply and enough solar and battery storage for all its needs and a couple of cars. If you want off grid living, this could be your blueprint!

Wheatley Drive, Watford

Like our last project, full solar roofing, battery storage, car chargers (that also work directly from the solar roof), Passivhaus insulation and air tightness with triple glazing, MVHR systems and ASHP heating.

This time we’ve built six 4 and 5 bedroom units in a terrace. Again, the market likes our houses, and they’ve all sold.

Watton Road, Ware

Before embarking on this project, we visited BRE Innovation Park near Watford and looked at the various eco-house prototypes.

We decided to work with one of the award-winning architects, Bill Dunster OBE from Zed-Factory. He specialises in houses that are built with low carbon materials and create enough energy over the course of a year for all their heating and lighting. They have, full solar roofing, battery storage, car chargers, Passivhaus insulation and air tightness with triple glazing, MVHR systems and ASHP heating.

Our Watton Road project is two pairs of 3-bedroom semi-detached houses, designed by Bill as “Zero-Bills Homes”, the market really liked them. The project was completed two weeks before the Ukraine war started, since when the property market has been stagnant. Not so these houses, I’m told one has re-sold with an uplift of over 10%.

Fishers Green, Stevenage

Two pairs of 4-bedroom semi-detached houses. This was our first development where we explored whether we could introduce any performance modifications and would be recoup the money we spent?

We put solar roofs and battery storage on two of the 4 houses, so they’d have some free energy and lower bills. It proved very successful, not only did we recoup the money spent, but we found that all our buyers wanted a house with the solar. We took note of this for our next project.

Trafford Court, Stevenage

This is a 3-bedroom dormer bungalow build. It is traditional brick and blockwork construction with no special eco or performance characteristics.

We like to think we did a nice job and certainly the buyer has been very happy with it since we finished it in 2017
